Friday is also our Fifth Grade Class Store! The students have been earning money in class, and are encouraged to work together to have something to sell to other students. We really encourage hand-made items rather than store-bought things, although food items cannot be homemade.
Friday is also our class storytelling competition. One class winner will compete next week against other fifth graders for the chance to compete at the school competition. The story does not have to be true, but we do encourage students to give a new twist if they are using a familiar story.
Wednesday and Thursday are Parent Teacher Conferences. Thanks to those who have signed up, and I look forward to meeting with you. If you have not yet signed up, there is still time! Please sign up through Skyward, and let me know if you are unable to come on those days and we can reschedule for another time.
Next week, we will be having a Valentine’s Day party on Wednesday, and our fifth grade Maturation program will be Friday, Feb. 16 at 1:00. That Friday will be a common day, so students and parents can have a chance to talk together about the program. A note will be sent home with more information about the program.
Thanks so much, and I look forward to meeting with so many of you in the coming days!
