We are also excited about two UVU students who will be spending the next three weeks with us. Miss Ali and Miss Abby are juniors in the Education Department, and will be with us in the mornings for the next few weeks, helping us out and teaching us some things about history.
We had our end of unit math test today, so that means we will be starting a new unit. We will be focusing on whole number multiplication and division, and looking some more at decimal multiplication and division, including using two decimals. We will begin drafting our essays explaining why so many people died at the Jamestown Colony, and will be studying earthquakes and volcanoes. (Thanks so much for the shoe boxes! We could still use a couple more if anyone else has any!) We have begun reading A Wrinkle in Time, which works both for our reading unit and for Battle of the Books! Double win!
I have posted the slide show with our new vocabulary words on the class website, as well as the assignment sheet which I will hand out tomorrow in class. The words from past weeks are also there for students to study for the cumulative review quiz on Friday.
Have a wonderful and safe Halloween!
