We will be having our Christmas sing for parents next Monday morning. I do not know the order we will be singing, so unfortunately, I cannot let you know where fifth grade will fall in the schedule. If I find out more information, I will pass that along to you all. Our school sing will be Tuesday morning, with our class party that afternoon. Wednesday, Dec. 20 will be a short day, with Early Birds dismissing at 11:45 and Later Gators dismissing at 1:00. Lunch will still be served that day.
Information on STEM Fair came home today. Please let me know if you have any questions! I will be checking with the students each day to see how I can help with their planning, and will also take some time in class to give them a chance to do some research on questions they may be interested in pursuing. I’ve asked for them to have their proposals turned in by next Monday at the latest so I can review them and get them returned before the break, in case anyone needs to start their project over that time.
Tomorrow we will be re-enacting the Stamp Act Congress with a lively debate about the issues that were facing the colonists at that time. We have also started our study of fractions in math, and are working on discovering how current electricity works in science. We are packing a lot of fun and learning in these last days before break!
Thanks so much for your generosity for our 10 Days of Caring! I’ve been amazed at all the food coming in every day. We will be collecting food, toys and coins for the rest of this week. Also, a huge thanks to all those of you who are helping with Battle of the Books!! It is such an enormous undertaking, and the students love it so much! We couldn’t do it without your help!
Have a wonderful week, and I look forward to seeing some of you next Monday at the sing!
