We are beginning a unit in reading focusing on Human Rights, and have started reading the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, written by the UN in 1948. We will use this document to help understand different time periods of US history and other world events over the next few months. Students are learning about working conditions for children during the Industrial Revolution in history right now, and in math we are beginning to work with dividing decimals. Robotics is currently our focus in both science and writing, as we finish up our designing and testing the ROVs and conduct research for the tri-fold display portion of the competition.
I’ve heard from several students that they are glad Battle of the Books is over so they can read all of the other books that they’ve been wanting to read. I was so impressed by how well all the teams performed in the battles last week; they really knew their books! They were also very respectful to the other teams and the parent volunteers. Thank you to all of you who were able to help judge the battles! We very much appreciate you giving your time to help with this awesome program!
Enjoy the warm weather while it is here! Have a wonderful week!
