This week is the last week of the second term. The grades in Skyward at the end of the week will be the grades on student’s progress report. I wanted to make sure to point out that the grades for each concept shows where the student is now, and for most of the concepts, we are still in the process of solidifying our learning. For instance, fractions that we are learning about now will have a grade, but we have not finished our assessments of these areas. The third term is where we give students a final grade towards mastery, so if grades are low this term, we can continue to increase our understanding over the next few months. Please feel free to ask me any questions you have after progress reports come out.
Please be sure to sign up on the Hope of America website if you are planning on your child attending the program on May 7. Most students returned their papers saying they would be attending, but there are not many signed up on the site. The address is: hopeofamerica.org
Thank you to those of you who filled out the parent survey for me. I appreciate the feedback so that I can continue to improve in my teaching. Communication was an area that I felt like I could improve based on the feedback from you, so I created another very short survey (just two questions!) to help me better communicate with you. If you could take a minute to let me know what kind of information you would like me to communicate with you, I’d really appreciate it! Here is a link to the survey: Communication survey.
We will not have class next Monday because of professional development, and I will be gone next Tuesday-Thursday for a technology conference and A.L.L. professional development day. Please let me know if you have any questions that come up while I am gone.
Thanks so much, and have a wonderful week!
