We are jumping into things with both feet as we return. Today, your child brought home a few things of note. We have a field trip this Friday to the new Thanksgiving Point exhibit, the Butterfly Biosphere. We need some parent volunteers, so if you are available and have your background check, we’d love to have you! You can email me, or make a note on the permission slip sent home today.
Our school science fair will be Friday, Feb. 8. The students brought home their packets today to start planning their projects. There are some resources available on our Math Google Classroom that the students explored last week, and they can look at some more for some ideas. The packet needs to be returned and approved before they may begin their experiments, so I’ve asked students to have those turned back in to me by this Friday.
Students also brought home information about Hope of America. We are scheduled to perform on Tuesday, May 7. You will need to sign up on the website: https://hopeofamerica.org/ This activity is outside of school hours, so it is up to you as a family if you choose to participate in the evening program. We will be performing for the school, so all students will learn the songs, and will go to the practice at BYU on May 7. I do need to paper returned to school to let me know whether or not they are choosing to participate.
Lastly, we are planning our field trip to the state Capitol on Jan. 31. I will contact those of you who signed up as interested in chaperoning to confirm if you are still able to come. Please let me know if you don’t hear from me and you’d like to come with us.
Thanks for reading all of this! We are busy, busy, busy these days!
Have a great week!
