With the short week this week, we will not have any vocabulary work. We will be finishing up with our math unit this week, and have a test next Monday. We will be starting our October poetry recitations today (Wednesday) and continue those through next Tuesday. We have started reading A Wrinkle in Time, and are working on understanding the idea of a hero’s journey. History and writing will be combined during our study of Jamestown, where we are reading and writing about why so many people died at the outset of the colony.
The class is doing an amazing job with their tutoring of kindergarten readers! The little readers have learned so much already! Some of our students have volunteered to help afternoon kindergarteners during their afternoon recess, which is so awesome!
We are in need of a few smallish shoe boxes for a science project we will be doing in the next couple weeks. If you have any around that you are not using, we’d love to have them. Thanks!
Have a wonderful week!
